La vita Viterbese
Wow. I swear I am walking through a movie set in downtown LA, not believing the cobblestone streets of Viterbo. It's beautiful here. I am loving every minute of it so far.
Mia famiglia è simpatica e fantastica. Mari, mia mama Italiana, is an amazing chef. She is also a very nice host. Max, mio padre Italiano, is very anxious to show me Italy and a great conversationalist. Eleanora, mia sorella, has been the biggest help as far as getting around and teaching me the ropes around here. She has shown me around il centro also, and that has been the most exciting. She is so sweet. Valerio, mio fratello, is just so adorable. I mistook his name for Valencio before I got here and he now teases me my name is "Coryncio". Gotta love 10 year olds!
La Festa di Santa Rosa began yesterday with the mini macchina! The facchini are the people who carry on their backs a very large parade float lit up with real candles! The mini facchini marched through Viterbo last night and it was beautiful.
Also, last night I had my first Italian pizza and gelato. I'm sorry Romanelli's and McCool's, you've served me well, but I am forever changed. I've moved on to bigger and better things; and thats authentic Italian deliciousness.
So far I love it. I cannot wait to be fluent!!!
