Mangia mangia mangia!

I’m going for it. I have no interest in being obese, I’m just through with the guilt. So, here’s what we’re going to do: we’re going to finish this pizza, and tomorrow, we’re going to buy ourselves some bigger jeans.

Here I give you the wise words of Julia Roberts to explain how one eats in Italy. As more time passes, I've begun to learn more about the art of eating as the Italians do. Americans, I present to you the rules of Italian eating.

1) Enjoy everything you put on your plate. Don't be wasteful but take what you want to eat. You should not restrict yourself because eating is not a chore!

2) Eat your food leisurely. Your food is not alive and it won't crawl away! Bring the food to you and take all the time you need to savor it. There is always time to eat.

3) Eat in good company! It's a social thing, so don't isolate and eat by yourself. Call a friend, sit with your mom, or even have the cat in the same room, even if each of them is not hungry!

4) Don't be shy when it comes to new foods. Even something that you never like before now prepared differently, try it.

5) EAT IN SEASON. It tastes better, it's fresher and therefore better for you, and you will feed your body the way it wants to be fed.

6) If you relieve the stress of eating, you relieve the stress of being self-conscious and worrying about your body image. Stay healthy, but remember a pound here or there is not anything to worry about. Here in Italy, a girls health comes before the matters of her appearance.
